How Is Placon Sustainable
Placon has been an industry leader in sustainability for decades. We’ve used post-consumer PET since the early 1990s and strengthened our leadership in 2011 by building an onsite recycling center to close the loop and improve the circular economy.
We continue to reduce our carbon footprint through zero net waste initiatives, facility upgrades, solar power use in our production facilities, and designing packaging for recyclability and superior end-of-life outcomes.
By accelerating speed to market and advancing the next generation of post-consumer packaging, we’re helping our customers achieve their most ambitious sustainability goals well beyond the walls of our facilities.
Sustainability Highlights
- We’ve been using post-consumer recycled PET since the early 1990s, and created our own on-site recycling and extrusion facility.
- Our EcoStar® 50S material meets PCR requirements for all 50 U.S. states.
- We prioritize green energy by investing in and using solar power at our facilities.
- Placon is Zero Net Waste (ZNW) certified at two of our facilities, with plans to convert our other locations to ZNW as well.
- We design packaging for recyclability and can help customers reach their sustainability goals.
